The Community Classroom is a facility for children to learn beyond school. It is a space for them to discover their talents by exploring art, science and sports. The focus is on building skills and learning values.
The Community Classroom is an initiative that started during the coronavirus pandemic when schools were closed and children were stranded without viable options to learn and play. The Community Classroom provides a hub for children to learn, play and nurture their talents. As schools gradually reopen, we continue to provide a vital space for learning through tools and methods that are far more engaging and wide ranging than what regular schooling provides.
We are currently helping over 40 children from ages 10-18 years.
At the Middle School Level:
> We focus on imparting sound understanding of fundamental concepts using innovative learning methods.
> Outdoor learning and practical learning are major part of the learning process. We stress on value building and life skills.
> We provide great facilities and specialized training to help students explore their talents in music, arts, science and sports.
At the High School Level:
> We help students identify their key talents and preferred learning methods.
> We guide students to choose their growth path - choice of subjects, vocational skills and career streams.
> We coach students for their important examinations and support them till they settle into a chosen profession.
The initiative has been transformative for the children, their families and the community:
> Children have found a safe and welcoming space to learn, play and nurture their talents
> Parents have found trusted teachers to provide their children quality education with no cost to them
> Children with delinquent tendencies, learning deficiencies and emotional needs have found great support
> Academically weak students have found new confidence, specially with English and Maths
> All children are growing in confidence and self-esteem as their talents are being recognized
> Older students are finding their foothold in career streams of their choice
> Today these students are an asset to society as a volunteer base for social causes
